M.Sc. Nikolina Alexia Fasoula

Nikolina Alexia Fasoula studied Medicine (M.D.) at the University of Thessaly in Larisa, Greece. She holds a Master of Science in Human Genetics (M.Sc.) from the same department. In her Master thesis, she explored the “Host genetics and good microbiome interactions in metabolic diseases". She is currently pursuing her PhD (Dr.rer.nat.) in Experimental Medicine at the Technical University of Munich, Germany as an experienced member of the interdisciplinary Clinical Bioengineering Group (Group Leader: Dr. Angelos Karlas) at the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (Director: Prof. Vasilis Ntziachristos). Her main research interests are in the areas of vasometabolic optoacoustic imaging and sensing. In iMAGO, Nikolina coordinates the clinical optoacoustic studies.
