Meal-associated metabolic responses in brown adipose tissue and skeletal muscle related to weight loss

We apply non-invasive imaging technologies to investigate meal- and cold induced metabolic responses in brown adipose tissue and skeletal muscle. People with obesity will be compared to lean controls, studying the effects of exercise and caloric restriction. In this context we will analyze the role of the gut hormone secretin as an endocrine activator of metabolism.
